Carlsbad Caverns and Guadelupe National Park

Friday to hit the road to Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico. Roughly 140 miles from El Paso. We found that we had to drive through Guadelupe National Park to get there. We all were in aww of everhting we saw. A and E became Jr. Rangers and M became a Sr. Rangers. To become Jr. Rangers and a Sr. Ranger they had to track animals, get quizzed on the local animals and plants. Watch a video on how the Carlsbad Caverns and Guadelupe Mountains were formed then take a quiz. They had to learn desert survival. A~ really enjoyed that. He is all about that stuff. They all did very well.  We are all doing the National Park Passort Progam. Every National Park they go to they will get a stamp for that park. They loved that idea.

M's favorite thing was the caverns. She just went on and on about it. She is begging to go back again soon. She says 'everyone' should see it before they die. It really is amazing. It's like being on a different planet. So cool. There was a lot of buzz about a new cave they found a few months ago in the cavern's. It is supposed to be very amazing. Right now it is only open to exploring teams and rangers. They have discovered new microorganisms in there so it will be a few years before anyone else is allowed in there.

Pictures will come later.

Things I want to do

I have been thinking of a few things I really want to get into. I want to learn to sew with a sewing machine and by hand, I want to learn to quilt and I want to learn about healing herbs. I have always been very interested in the healing power of natural herbs. I mean Heavenly Father put them here for a reason. So soon I will be looking into all this. I believe the YMCA has sewing classes so as soon as we join I will looking into that. I will probably just have to teach myself how to sew by hand and my wonderful mother can teach me to quilt! The herbs can find online and there are plenty of books out there!

I am hoping K and I get back into church soon! I miss it. I miss the people, the feeling and of course having the gospel in our home. We are totally the blacksheep in our family since no one else goes to church.  We are the only Mormons aswell. LOL  That is ok, we know the church is true and that is all that matters. We feel so bad because we haven't raised our children in the church so far and they have paid the price for our stupidness.  But starting soon they will be raised in the church!!! They have a lot to learn, as do we!! Can't wait.

Need to hit the goodwill to get the kids some church clothes! They have no church clothes at all! So we will be heading there soon!  I love the goodwill always so many good things there! I don't see what peoples issues are with the goodwill and garage sales!!  We love them! And as fast as kids grow it is hard to keep up with them!

Well I'm out for the day! Kids all took their medicine and are napping and I think I will do the same. I really hope K gets to come home today!!! We miss him.

Giving this a try (for the millionth time)

So I'm giving this blogging thing another try. I love to write down what I'm thinking an feeling and a blog is the best way to do it!

I'm J~ the queen here in our home. My king is K and our little princesses and prince are: Princess M~ she is 11  Prince A~ he is 9 and Princess E~ she is 6.  K is in the Army and is currently on lock down with his whole unit do to someone stealing something of importance. Not sure how long the lock down will last, but with the Army you never know.  I home school my wonderful kiddos. Have been doing so for a little over three years. We love it!! I have just found a few home school groups in our area we are going to join!!! We are very excited about that!!  I'm also looking into joining the YMCA. They offer so many things for kids and adults so I think it will be well worth it

I need to find a way to got more organized!! I am going crazy here!! But I think joining the homeschooling groups will help for sure. Since we have moved I have been very scatter brained and now it is driving me crazy!

Just found out this morning that my sister is having another baby boy!! The boys are catching up! With my kids and their cousins we have 5 girls and 2 boys in June we will have on more boy! We are all very excited! Can't wait to find out the name and meet the little guy!

I am having some major dental work done soon. I have horrible teeth thanks to genes. lol  But we will get it all taken care of. I have a bad tooth right now and it has been causing me so many issues lately. SO PAINFUL!!!!  M will be getting braces soon and is very nervous about that, but she will be fine!! Well I must get off here and get this house picked up! Have some moms from the home school groups coming over! Very excited to meet them!!
